Location: Central Florida bordering Orange, Polk, Sumter, Marion, Seminole and Volusia Counties. Part of the Central Highlands with rolling hills and an elevation of approximately 50 to 190 feet above sea level. The southeastern tip is part of the growing 4 corners area minutes away from Disney and Central Florida Attractions. The northwest borders the Ocala National Forest.

History: Lake County was established in 1887 from portions of Sumter and Orange counties and named for its large number of lakes. There are approximately 1,400 named lakes.
