If you’re like me, you struggle with finding restaurants within budget and with the right setting for the night. With so many places to choose you might end up going to the same old place. Lake Nona has over 50 restaurants and food chains. I have found some of the best places in Lake Nona to eat and enjoy with friends and family. I will offer you kid friendly places with menus just their size, places perfect for a date night, exciting places to hang with friends with and without beverages, and quick bites for lunch or dinner. While some restaurants offer other locations, they are all found here in Florida and Florida only. Supporting local businesses is a fantastic way to show pride to the town and state we love.
Let’s start with Boxi Park, a venue that offers plenty of options. With a small entrance fee you have your choice of seven restaurants and three bars. Flow Play ($) is a chicken joint with burgers and strips perfect for all ages. Naughty & Nice ($) is a healthy choice of bowls and drinks. For those looking for more of a sit-down experience there is Park Pizza & Brewing Co. ($$). With a kid’s menu and a variety of items and drinks, it is not only good for family but a wonderful place for a night out with friends. And for dessert visit Before it Melts ($) for ice-cream by cone or boat. The last three restaurants are great for a night out with friends but offer no kids options. Cañonita Street Taqueria ($) offers tacos, Claw and Order ($) has seafood, and The Grill Next Door ($) is ideal for burgers. Boxi Park is also great for a quick bite but would be recommend only if not on too tight a schedule. Boxi Park holds card only establishments, no cash except at the entrance tower where you can buy a Boxi payment card to make all purchases. Not to mention that every weekend Boxi Park serves up a farmer market and live music.
Nona Blue Modern Tavern ($$) has two locations in Ponte Vedra and Lake Nona. Offering flatbreads, tacos, and handwiches, with a kid’s menu of burgers, pizza, and pasta; perfect for families. But reservations are suggested to make wait time short for that date night or family night out.
Bolay ($$) is a healthy possibility for a quick bite for the family. With fresh ingredients you can expect only the best tasting bowls in all seven Florida locations; Pembroke Pines, Royal Plam Beach, West Palm Beach, Lake Nona, Winter Park, Jupiter, South Boca, and Alton Town Center (Palm Beach Gardens).
Pig Floyd ($) has two locations: Lake Nona and Mills 50. Catering to those who love brisket, bentos, tacos, and platters. They have a Piglets menu for kids that while limited with only four items, it has a choice suited for most eaters.
The last family friendly restaurant is also good for a date night, Durian Durian Thai Fusion Cuisine ($$). Offering two menus; lunch ($) offers seafood, chicken, and beef; whereas the dinner menu ($$) offers much the same but also has a kids menu with wings, stir fry, and chicken nuggets.
Now that we have the kids taken care of and finally have a rare night off, let’s go to dinner. Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine ($$) offers two menus at four locations; Winter Park, Lake Nona, Winter Garden, and Dr Phillips. Bosphorous lunch menu is smaller with a smaller price range between $-$$. The dinner menu is larger with a bigger price range ($$). But you can expect great cuisine with authentic meals of beef, pork, and lamb with kebap, sauté, and shanks with gluten free options.
Canvas Restaurant ($$) of Lake Nona is a perfect setting for a date night and a night out with friends. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; with tacos and sandwiches, frites and bowls, or wild boar and lobster.
Chroma Modern Bar and Kitchen ($$) has a small but varied menu that can tickle your tongue with comfort burgers and flatbreads, but also has seafood options from shrimp and muscles to fish and calamari. Chroma also offers Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Lamb.
Last on the date night list is the Cork and Fork ($$), open from brunch to dinner, with hours perfect for working parents. Watermelon salad, calamari, and hummus are just a few of the appetizers on the menu. Cork and Fork also offers gluten free and vegetarian options on their menu for discerning tastes. Having a night to yourself is better with friends. Each pick has a setting for friends but remember not to drink and drive.
Now I change your focus to finding a quick bite to eat either solo or with co-workers or other friends. We start with Urban Hibachi Sushi and Grill ($$). Like the name suggests they have sushi on the menu and their grill options are skewers, curry, and udon. They also offer all manner of seafood like lobster, scallop, and calamari.
Toasted ($) is a wonderful place to get a quick but exceptional grilled cheese sandwich or burger with any manner of cheese you wish with 41 choices.
Sweet Mama’s Restaurant ($) is remarkable for a quick but hardy breakfast or lunch. Eggs benedict, Philly cheese, and Greek delights are just some of the treats on the menu.
Lake Nona Deli and Market ($$) can get you pizza by the slice or the whole pie. If you’re in a mind for a sandwich they have over ten and give you the chance to build your own.
407 Café ($$) offers savory foods and a gelato bar with over ten flavors. 407 Café also has a kid’s menu and crepes, panini's, and flatbreads for all ages.
I hope you find this list simple but expansive and full of tastes and treats for you and those you choose to share them with.
