Upon entering the doors of this modern winery, I was surrounded by inviting company and a welcoming atmosphere. They have amazing decor, from barrels on the ceiling to a bee hive on the wall, to honey made products to purchase. I tried six different wines of their sixteen. From premium iced wine to blueberry wine, they have several variations of wine flavors. There was a mix of flavors and the acidity varied from sweet to dry. Most of the wines available were from fruits like pineapple, mango, and apple. My favorite out of all six that I tried was the Sunshine State White Sangria. This wine was a meld of pineapples, mangoes, and peaches and had a sweet, light flavor. It was delicate, tasteful, and the flavors combine well together.
There are other features here such as the bistro to order food from, which offers vegan and vegetarian options as well as food and wine pairings for you to enjoy. Being near many attractions, especially Disney World, makes it a convenient to visit. Local residents and tourists visiting from all over will find this winery to be a gem. Whether you are looking for a glass of wine or a small bite to eat, Island Grove Wine Company Formosa Gardens is the place to go.
When walking into the winery, there's a lot happening around you. With a store to buy all the wines you taste and homemade items like soaps and trinkets for events, plus a bistro that serves desserts and savory foods, there is something for everyone here. There is ample seating available as well, especially on the outdoor patio that overlooks wine barrel fountains and the back part of the winery. The winery is a popular venue for events, especially weddings. The upstairs portion of the winery has a bridal suite where the wedding party can relax before the wedding. While talking to other customers, I learned that there was a live bee wall and an offering of unique bee and honey items in the gift shop. Island Grove gives wine enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy a distinct experience. From tasting unique flavors from local microbreweries to wine, there is always something new to try each time you come.
Fun for Everyone
Every month there are fun events here for you to attend. For example, there is a dessert tasting wine event and a paint and drink event later this month on the 23rd of August from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Between light conversation, tasting new wine flavors and learning about this new winery, the staff were very friendly. All of my questions about the different kinds of wine that the winery offers, the way the grapes are grown off the vine, and the special process it has to go through in order to get made were answered. Stocked with all kinds of wine from dry to sweet, with wine slushies to beat the Florida sun and in-house made desserts, what more can you ask for?
