It seems that since “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts,” Universal Orlando has been trying to step up their game with their nighttime shows. Universal’s “Cinematic Celebration” debuted in June of this year and has been greatly received. UO has included several box office hits in their new show including Harry Potter, Trolls, The Fast and Furious, Jurassic Park, How to Train Your Dragon, and Despicable Me.

The show has combined fountain-based water screens, fireworks, special effects, and projection mapping. Projection mapping was also used in “Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” in Islands of Adventure. Visitors can enjoy the show from Central Park at Universal Studios, otherwise known as the area in front “Universal’s Horror Makeup Show.”

Universal’s brand-new water show is definitely an improvement from Universal’s “100 Years of Movie Magic.” The number of guests that stay to watch their nighttime show has increased drastically since the debut. Universal’s new “Cinematic Celebration” will be run during certain nights for the remainder of the summer.
