Why a Visit to the Florida Mall Should be in your Itinerary
The Florida Mall is one of the biggest shopping areas in Central Florida, so it’s quite an attraction for those visiting the area. For those that have lived there their whole lives, it might seem like a regular shopping trip but there’s always something new to enjoy here. It’s located just south of the city of Orlando and pretty close to the Orlando International Airport.
From the outside, it looks like a regular mall, although you can’t exactly see how large it is from one angle, only if you drive around. But once you step inside, it’s hard not to get lost if you’ve never been in here before. There are the normal department stores, like JCPenny, Sears, Dillards, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, in this mall. But there’s more than just department stores to look into.
Shops for Women
There are a lot of options for women’s clothing in the Florida Mall. Some of these stores include A’gaci and Camille La Vie, although the latter one is for formal wear such as cocktail dresses and other beautiful gowns. These stores are all about the latest fashion trends and the employees are always willing to help if you have any questions when shopping. A store that isn’t all clothing is Brighton Collectibles, and in here you can expect to find different accessories like jewelry, scarves, and handbags. Another cool store for women is Francesca’s. While there is clothing here, there are also home accessories and jewelry for women to ogle at.
Shops for Men
Clothing stores for men include Buckle and others. Outside clothing, there is Lids, which is a shop that is dedicated to headwear. There are hats for the MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL as well as other specialty hats like beanies and visors. Footaction USA also caters to men, with many options to choose from when it comes to footwear. ThinkGeek is a store that a lot of men tend to shop in, but it’s not just for men, like most of the stores in the Florida Mall.
The unfortunate truth about malls is that so many of them have stores in them that are mainly chain stores, but there are a select few that are more unique in the Florida Mall. A Christmas to Remember is one such store that must be visited, even if it’s not Christmas time. There are lights, ornaments, garlands, and other decorations available to look at, as well as novelty items that make great gifts, such as mugs, ugly sweaters, and nutcrackers.
The American Girl brand is one of the world’s leading toy companies, and there’s a store at the Florida Mall for all the little girls! Dedicated to encouraging young girls to be creative and dream big, American Girl allows the little shoppers to create their very own doll, complete with little outfits and accessories.
M&M’s World is an awesome place for kids, although it’s a great place to go for anyone who loves chocolate. There are only five stores world-wide, so lucky us to have one in Orlando! Aside from souvenir and gift items like t-shirts and mugs, you can make your own M&M bag full of your favorite colors.
The Crayola Experience is unfortunately geared towards children, so it’s kind of frowned upon for adults to go in and experience all the cool activities. But for those with kids, you can create your own crayon, learn how crayons are made, climb a 2-story indoor playground, create unique items with melted wax, and so much more.
The Food Court
For those who need a bite to eat while you’re here, there are little shops throughout the mall to grab food, like soft pretzels and ice cream. But for an actual meal, the food court is the best option. There’s Sushi Yummy, la Madeleine Country French Café, Oh My Dog! (which has some epically creative hot dog sandwiches), among other types of food like cheeseburgers, pizza, create-your-own salads, and baked goodies.
If you leisurely browse through the stores and everything the mall has to offer, you can easily spend a few hours, if not an entire day, at the Florida Mall. And you don’t have to spend a dime if you don’t want to but there are some pretty cool things here to check out if you’re in the area.
