Tutoring & Mentoring in Florida

Funds are appropriated by the legislature to the Florida Department of Education each year for Mentoring/Student Assistance Initiative grants and School and Instructional Enhancement grants. The purpose is to improve student performance for low-performing at-risk students. Tutoring and mentoring in Florida is mainly accomplished by the help of organizations such as Best Buddies International, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Black Male College Explorers, Boys & Girls Club, Girl Scouts of Florida, and many more.
