Universal’s Islands of Adventure opened in May 1999 and is a theme park was originally composed of six themed "islands," now eight, that are styled to immerse guests in adventures of a lifetime. The Lost Continent is home to many mythical figures and attractions, most notably, Poseidon’s Fury. In Seuss Landing, you’ll find the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and more of your favorite, whacky characters. One of the most famous recent developments is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter which has enchanted visitors of all ages since 2010. The area was recently expanded to include Hogsmeade/Diagon Alley in 2014 and connects to The Wizarding World via the Hogwarts Express. Skull Island, introduced in 2016, is the most recent development. It is home to King Kong and it is the first time the character has been in the park since 2002.
