Disney’s Animal Kingdom became the fourth installment of the Walt Disney World Resort in the Orlando Florida area. on Earth Day, April 22nd of 1998. It brings together the elements of a zoo with world class entertainment with shows, rides, restaurants, characters and tons of fun stuff to do and see.

With the Tree of Life as the icon for the park, Disney, as usual, exceeds expectations. Disney's Animal Kingdom is an accredited Zoo and it puts research, conservation and animals care at it's forefront. 

Michael Eisner’s dedication reads, “Welcome to a kingdom of animals... real, ancient and imagined: a kingdom ruled by lions, dinosaurs and dragons; a kingdom of balance, harmony and survival; a kingdom we enter to share in the wonder, gaze at the beauty, thrill at the drama, and learn.”

Disney’s Animal Kingdom® was the fourth theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake near Orlando, Florida. It opened on Earth Day, April 22, 1998 as the largest Disney park featuring animals and wildlife. The park icon and symbol is The Tree of Life, located in the center of the park on Discovery Island. The park is themed to the environment and animal conservation with 6 unique animal and wildlife themed lands.
