Lake Griffin State Park is home to Florida's second oldest Live Oak Tree, which is approximately 400 years old. It is a great place to sightsee and enjoy nature. The park offers 40 campsites, each with water and electricity, and some even include a sewer. Activities offered at Lake Griffin State Park include kayak and canoe tours, boat tours, and hiking. Various wildlife such as raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, and bears are all commonly found in the park's trails.

For families homeschooling students age 11 to 18 and living in Central Florida, this teen only group includes activities, field trips, etc. will be geared toward the middle to high school level/age group.
We are a support group of homeschoolers in the Golden Triangle area of Lake County, Florida that meets regularly. We offer weekly park days, field trips, mom's night outs, and other events throughout the year. With over 200 families, we have all ages and homeschooling approaches represented in our group, although the highest concentration of students is lower middle school and younger.
