Central Park of Winter Park

Central Park in Winter Park is a wonderfully peaceful place to visit for anyone who wants to get out and enjoy a sunny day. There is plenty of grassy areas for kids to play and laugh in, walkways for those who want to take a stroll, and even a rose garden to enjoy when they are in bloom. With benches for relaxing and fountains to enjoy, this is a great trip outside the house.

There seems to be a Central Park in every town and Winter Park is no exception. This 11 acre park in the middle of town is a beautiful and quiet park where people go to walk and play with their children. There is no playground equipment but plenty of space to run and play. Some families bring their own picnics and a soccer ball to enjoy an afternoon.

There are two fountains that sit towards the center of the park, separated by some green grass and walkways. Benches line the paths that go around the park, allowing visitors to sit in a shady spot and relax. On the south side of Central Park is a pavilion where activities take place from time to time and just beyond that is a Rose Garden for people to enjoy. It can also be rented out for small weddings or other private events by contacting the Parks Administration Office.

Quite a few events take place here throughout the year, so be sure to check them out when you’re in the area. The Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is a fun way to spend the day. Artists come out with their chalk and other art supplies to create pieces that will last for a few days, although the weather and the amount of pedestrians on the walkways determine exactly how long the art is visible.

Another annual event that takes place in Central Park is the Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. There’s games and food for people to enjoy on the nation’s holiday and the park is decorated in red white and blue.

The area the park is in is nice, too. There are stores where people can walk and window shop or go into to look more thoroughly. After playing under the sun for a short time, the children will love Peterbrooke Chocolatier and Haagen-Daaz ice cream parlor near E New English Ave. What is a better way of ending an afternoon playing in the park than with a nice ice cream cone?

There’s a variety of shops along Park Ave N, including jewelry, clothes, handbags, sunglasses, and books. There are also restaurants to enjoy where guests can eat outside if the weather is nice enough. There’s a little something for everyone here, but make sure it’s a nice sunny day before planning a visit to Central Park in Winter Park. While there are stores across the street to hide out from the rain in, the park is much more enjoyable with the sun shining on everyone’s faces.
