Collier County offers unique options for physical recreation, beachside enjoyment, and community driven activities for all comers. Enjoy all these draws as well as the extensive array of sports programs and see what makes Collier so special.

Bring your bike to Golden Gate Community Park and check on your vegetable garden. Take a towel to Marco Island and take in the rays next to aquatic and air-faring wildlife. Strap in your dog, your children, and maybe your grandmother too, when you visit Veterans Community Park at one of its many events. Take some time out for a team or individual sport. Golden Gate Community Park
The Golden Gate Community Center lies in the heart of Collier County and features its only BMX bicycle track. Wheels Skate BMX park features a National Bicycle League bmx sanctioned track and plays host to dozens of competitions each year. Also offered at Golden Gate CC is a bandshell for musical performances, fully lit playground, gymnasium, game room, nine meeting rooms and the Collier County Community Garden. The community garden was installed to promote healthier living where residents can plant fruits, vegetables, and herbs while being provided the land and tools needed to make a successful harvest.
Year-Round Sports Programs

Marco Island
The beaches of Marco Island showcase lush, Floridian seaside habitats for the plants and animals in the area, while providing the beautiful, sunbathing vistas that make south Florida Famous. South Marco beach showcases sabal palms as well as amenities for overnight stays, so you can visit Tigertail beach, the main draw of the island. Named “one of the best all-around birding locations in southwest Florida,” in the Great Florida Birding Trail guide, Tigertail offers 32 acres of nesting areas for wintering and nesting shorebirds. From the Sand Dollar Spit, take in the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. The Sand Dollar Spit, also known as the Big Marco Pass Critical Wildlife Area, is separated from Tigertail Beach Park by a tidal lagoon which hosts an abundant array of sealife. Horseshoe Crabs, Needlefish, Florida Fighting Conchs and more reside in the lagoon and are great subjects for viewing while putting your toes in the sand. Cabanas, water trikes, a butterfly garden, and many other features are offered at Tigertail Beach. Come to Marco Island to visit them all for a great getaway.
Veterans Community Park
One of the must bustling parks in Collier County, this park, located in north Naples, specializes in activities for youth, seniors, and even dogs. For young park goers, the Middle School Rap program is offered for children to get a chance to spend time outside with their friends, even when school is out for the summer. During the school year, After School Adventurers is offered as well. The Bone Builders exercise program caters to older park goers who suffer from osteoporosis in building strength and energy with specially targeted exercises. For four legged pals, you can bring your pup to a Pups N’ Popcorn event for a unique movie night. During the daytime, take them to the Rover Run Dog Park, the only dog park in Collier County. There is plenty of space available for separate areas designed for small and large dogs, making everyone welcome.
Major Plans
Collier County is planning on adding three big additions to their family of parks. The Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park will be 150 acres with recreational fields and playgrounds along a lakeside. An all-terrain vehicle park is also in the books for 640 acres. The Blue Zones Project will also promote healthier living in restaurants, schools, and grocery stores throughout the community.
