Florida Wild Birds

Florida is a birders paradise. With over a thousand species of rare, exotic and endangered birds, the activity of bird watching is a favorite pastime among Floridians and visitors alike.

The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon with a friend or maybe a few family members. This place is for the nature lovers as it is wetlands where a multitude of animals live. There are over 300 different species of birds that can be seen while on this 11-mile driving loop. Other animals that can be seen here are alligators, turtles, river otters, bobcats, coyotes, and the occasional bear and deer meandering through the wooded areas. If you decide to drive it can take from 1-2 hours to enjoy the natural scenery, but walkers, joggers, bicyclers, and horseback riders are encouraged to enjoy the natural sights at Lake Apopka.
