Florida Could have the First High Speed Travel Hyperloop

Orlando-Miami is a finalist

Have you heard of Elon Musk and his Hyperloop One project? If not, you probably will soon as Florida Orlando-Miami, is now a finalist for this high-speed travel vacuum tube that would allow you to travel the 257 mile route in about 26 minutes.

Elon Musk is a billionaire entrepreneur who is the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and was a original partner in Paypal. He is most know for his technological visions to change the world by utilizing better technologies that won’t hurt the planet.

He first unveiled his Hyperloop concept in 2013 inspiring Hyperloop Transportation Technologies to form and begin work on the idea. The Hyperloop One Global Challenge brought engineers and innovators around the world to bring this idea to reality.

Florida has been chosen as 1 of 10 routes to be the first to bring the Hyperloop to fruition connecting the two cities of Miami and Orlando. This 26 minute travel time between the cities would boost the states travel economy allowing those who visit the theme parks of central Florida to be able to easily spend a day at Miami Beach on their vacation.

The Hyperloop would also greatly improve the distribution of goods that come into the Port of Miami. The proposed Miami-Orlando route could just be the start of an ongoing expansion into northern states and across the U.S.

The Florida Hyperloop team is led by AECOM with backing of the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and other public-sector and private partners.
