Dancing is an excellent way to have some fun with your significant other to just to meet new people. Sure, you can dance at nightclubs, but if you feel like ballroom dancing or swing dancing, you probably want to find somewhere else to do it. Luckily there are lots of organizations that host weekly or monthly events for dancing. Here are some of the best dance events around Central Florida.
Orlando Chapter of USA Dance
USA Dance is an organization that promotes Ballroom Dancing. The Orlando Chapter holds monthly dance parties on the 3rd Friday of every month. These parties include a short dance lesson for beginners and then a three hour period of ballroom dancing. Every party has its own theme and welcomes dancers of all ages and levels.
The Dance Club of Central Florida
This club meets every Sunday in Casselberry for three hours of ballroom dancing. That time includes two lessons: one for beginners and one that’s a bit more challenging so all kinds of dancers can feel welcome. The club often has guest instructors come to teach on Sundays so there’s always something new to learn.
Orlando Swing Dance
Orlando Swing Dance is an organization that organizes swing dance events twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Saturday. Cost of admission includes an hour long class for beginners and a three-hour long dance period. Instructors and DJs rotate to keep things new and fresh week to week. And sometimes special events are held including theme nights and live band dances.
FloorPlay Dance Clubs
FloorPlay operates in several cities throughout Florida. The Orlando chapter meets every third Saturday to several different genres of ballroom or country style dance. Beginners are welcome and a lesson is included before the dance begins. Other nearby locations are Daytona Beach, Melbourne, and Tampa.
Bahhari Dance Center
Bahhari Dance Center is an Orlando dance studio that hosts several dance socials each month. Every Friday they have Bachata Invasion with dancing all through the night, On the Third Saturday of the month they host another event featuring free workshops for all kinds of Latin dances and goes until 3A.M. They also have two festivals a year: one in Tampa, one in Orlando to further promote a love of Latin Dance.
Belles and Beaus Dance
Belles and Beaus host a weekly ballroom dance event every Wednesday. Lessons are not available at the time of the dance, but they are taught every Friday night and private lessons can be scheduled. Live music is played for the dance every Wednesday and several special events are held throughout the year.
