City of Clermont, Florida

Incorporated in 1916, Clermont was founded in 1884 and named for the French birthplace of the manager of the Clermont Improvement Company. The appearance of historic downtown Clermont has remained virtually the same since the mid 1960s, following construction of the Florida Citrus Tower. The tower is a 226-foot-tall structure that provides visitors with a spectacular view of the surrounding orange groves.
