Town of Davie, Florida

Developer Robert Parsell Davie assisted in draining the swamplands, and bought about 27,000 acres of land in the area that was known as Zona. He built a school in Zona, and the residents were so grateful that they named the town after him. For a few years in the 1960’s, there was a western-themed amusement park called Pioneer City. Many residents owned, and still own, horses.
