Largo is the third largest city in Pinellas County, Florida and is part of the Tampa Bay area. After its genesis, Largo switched back and forth from being a city to a town and vice versa. Finally in 1974, Largo officially became a city and remained so ever since. Other notable achievements for the city include being named a National Arbor Day Tree City for seventeen years in a row. Residents of Largo enjoy visiting the recreation and aquatic centers which feature water slides and swimming pools, as well as the many nature trails found winding through the city.
