Village of Lazy Lake, Florida

Lazy Lake is a village in Broward County, Florida. The Village was founded by a developer named Hal Ratliff. Ratliff built the community of Lazy Lake around an old rock quarry, which later was filled with water to become an artificial lake. The name “Lazy Lake” came about when a friend of Ratliff’s remarked that the lake was “so lazy and peaceful.” Today, the village consists of only 15 homes on 13 acres.
