Lorida, Florida

Lorida is an area in eastern Highlands County, Florida. It was first named Istokpoga by the Seminoles and was given its current name when U.S. postal authorities could not call the area Istokpoga, because the name already belonged to another Florida post office. The area covering Lorida contains numerous fish camps and lodges on the north and east shore of Lake Istokpoga, a point of interest for many freshwater fishers.
