Oakland is located in Orange County, Florida. Established in 1887, Oakland is one of oldest municipalities in the County. Today, Oakland is a diverse and growing small community noted for its laid-back lifestyle and majestic oak trees. In addition, the town owns 130 acres of wetlands and uplands that are part of the Oakland Nature Preserve. The preserve is made open to the public for nature walks, guided tours, bird watching, and many formal and informal programs.
