City of Rockledge, Florida

Rockledge was officially founded on August 7, 1887, making it the oldest incorporated municipality in Brevard County. The city name is attributed to the city’s many ledges of coquina (comprised almost entirely of fragmented shells) rock that line the Indian River. Although it isn’t as big as some other tourist spots, culture and business thrive and there are events, festivals, and parades year round for those who uncover this Florida gem.
