Tangelo Park part of the Orlando—Kissimmee Metropolitan Area and is considered an isolated residential area with less than 800 families. The neighborhood got its name because it was built on land formerly used for orange groves where citrus and tangerines were breed to produce tangelos, hence the city’s name. Tangelo Park is home to the famous Rosen Hotels & Resorts which was founded by millionaire Harris Rosen. The company created a sense of philanthropy within the community through initiatives and various endeavors to support the youth, education, and poor families of Tangelo Park. So much of Rosen’s philanthropic work is embedded into the history of Tangelo Park and that the neighborhood continues to thrive because of it.
