Valparaiso is a city in Okaloosa County, Florida. It’s motto is “Vale of Paradise” lending credence to its beautiful bayou surroundings. Residents here live adjacent to the Eglin Air Force Base Gate with approximately 500 residents living on the base itself. Many World War II pilots received gunnery training here and the Toyko Raiders, under the leadership of General James Doolittle, trained at one of the auxiliary fields. Art is also a big part of this city’s culture as Valparaiso is home to the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida.
