Valrico is located in Hillsborough County, Florida. Originally, Valrico was a region of cotton plantations known as Long Pond. It was renamed to Valrico, meaning “rich valley” in Spanish, by a professor of Tufts college named William G. Tousey, who later purchased property in the area. Now Valrico is better known for its wide and open golf courses that are considered relatively inexpensive to use. With two golf courses open to the public, the interest of golfers both inside and outside Valrico has been and continues to be attracted.
