Yeehaw Junction, Florida

Yeehaw Junction is a community along the turnpike between Orlando and Miami. It is on the southern side of the longest stretch of limited access highway without an exit in the U.S. and on the northern side of the second longest, and it is a crossover point for three major highways, so it has always been a popular stopping stop for weary travelers. The Desert Inn and Restaurant is the oldest representation of this, having been in operation since the late 1800s. Today Yeehaw Junction is still so separated from the rest of the state that many children have to take a bus ride to school that can take up to an hour each day.
