Chuluota is family-oriented, with a mix of newer homes and historical properties, that retains a rural charm despite its growth in residential development.

The name “Chuluota” comes from a Creek Indian word meaning “Isle of Pines.” Settled in the 19th century, it was primarily an agricultural area.
