Collier County

Collier County is located in Southwest Florida bordering the Gulf of Mexico and Lee, Hendry, Broward, Monroe and Miami-Dade Counties. 

Collier County was established from a portion of Lee County in 1923 and named for advertising tycoon Barron G. Collier, one of South Florida's leading developers.

Collier County consists of 56 public schools, including 29 elementary schools, 10 middle schools, 8 high schools, 1 pre-K, an alternative center, and 5 charter schools. Over 46,000 students are served by 3,20 teacher each day during the school year. The district is highly noted for being accredited by AdvancED, the parent organization for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Additionally, there are many opportunities for students to take dual-enrollment college courses at any of the local colleges.
