LEGOLAND Florida is packed with exciting rides designed for families and LEGO fans of all ages. Whether you’re looking for thrilling roller coasters, interactive adventures, or kid-friendly attractions, there’s something for everyone.
My kids are huge Lego fans, particularly my 3 youngest so we were excited to spend a day exploring this park! And none of my kids are huge thrill-seekers so the rides here were perfectly fitting for them.
As a single mom with 4 kids, ages 3-12, I am breaking this down into 4 sections: Young Kids (ages 2-5), Middle Kids (ages 5-8), Older Kids (ages 8+), and Whole Family (adults included!)
Rides for My Curious & Cautious Toddler (Ages 2-4)
For my little one, we focused on gentle rides that made him feel independent but still safe.
Duplo Train
- Why It’s Great: A slow, easy train ride through a colorful LEGO world. No height restrictions, so the toddlers will feel like a big kid getting their own ride experience!
Ford Junior Driving School
- Location: LEGO City
- Who Loved It? My 3-year-old, but my oldest kids were not happy about being too tall to attend.
- Why It’s Great: This interactive experience lets kids drive their own mini LEGO-style electric cars on a little track, stopping at traffic signs just like a real driver. At the end, they even earn a LEGOLAND driver’s license!
Rides for My Middle Child (Ages 5-8)
My kids love interactive rides and games, so these are perfect as they are engaging, exciting, and make your kids feel like part of the action!
Lost Kingdom Adventure
- Location: Land of Adventure
- Who Loved It? My 7-year-old and even my older kids (and me!) My youngest didn’t like the darkness, but the competition won him over!
- Why It’s Great: This interactive (dark) ride lets kids use laser blasters to shoot at targets while exploring an ancient LEGO temple. The friendly competition to get the highest score kept my kids entertained (and made my older kids super competitive).
Ninjago The Ride
- Location: LEGO Ninjago World
- Who Loved It? My LEGO Ninjago-obsessed 7-year-old and gamer 10-year-old.
- Why It’s Great: This 3D interactive (dark) motion-based ride lets kids “throw” fire virtual energy balls with just their hands, seriously, no controller needed! It felt like a video game come to life, and I even got into it and had a blast!
Aquazone Wave Racers
- Location: LEGO Technic
- Who Loved It? My 7-year-old (but my 3-year-old had to sit this one out)
- Why It’s Great: Kids hop into LEGO-style jet skis and spin around a water track, dodging (or getting hit by!) water blasts. It’s a fun way to cool off, and even I couldn’t help but laugh at how wet we got.
Rides for My Thrill-Seeking Big Kids (Ages 8+)
These rides were a hit with my older kids! Fast, exciting, and just enough adrenaline to keep them coming back for more. Note, when I say fast, I mean fast for kids! These rides are great for kids who love the rides but not yet ready for the super fast roller coasters at other theme parks.
The Dragon
- Location: LEGO Kingdoms
- Who Loved It? My 10- and 12-year-olds
- Why It’s Great: It’s a perfect first big roller coaster, thrilling but not overwhelming. This medieval-themed steel roller coaster starts with a slow indoor journey through a LEGO-built castle filled with knights, wizards, and an animatronic fire-breathing dragon. Then, the ride kicks into high gear, taking riders on a series of twists, turns, and mild drops.
Coastersaurus
- Location: Land of Adventure
- Who Loved It? My adventure-loving 12-year-old, and my 7- and 10-year-old dinosaur fans, after their big sister convinced them to ride it.
- Why It’s Great: This wooden coaster is just fast enough to be exciting but not too scary. The dinosaur theme was a hit, and the ride wasn’t too long, perfect for a kid easing into roller coasters. While it’s not the tallest or fastest coaster, the sudden dips and curves add just the right amount of excitement for kids and adults alike.
Flying School ✈️
- Location: LEGO City
- Who Loved It? My oldest (12-year-old) and I loved the speed and height, while my younger ones decided to watch from the sidelines.
- Why It’s Great: This suspended coaster gives you the feeling of soaring through the air as your feet dangle below. With sharp turns and unexpected drops, it’s one of the more intense rides at LEGOLAND Florida, but still family-friendly.
Rides We Could All Enjoy Together
Finding rides that worked for all 4 kids (plus mom!) was a lifesaver when we wanted a break from thrill rides and splitting up.
LEGO Technic Test Track
- Location: LEGO Technic
- Who Loved It? All of my older kids (ages 7-12) My 3-year-old sat this one out, but my big kids loved the speed!
- Why It’s Great: A mild but fast coaster that felt exciting without being too scary. This mini roller coaster mimics a LEGO Technic test car in action, with fast turns and sudden drops. It’s a great choice for kids who love speed but aren’t quite ready for bigger coasters.
Boating School ⛵
- Who Loved It? We all did!
- Why It’s Great: Kids drive real motorized LEGO boats around a mini waterway! It’s slower-paced but fun because they get to be in control (and Mom got to relax while they navigated).
The Grand Carousel ✨
- Who Loved It? My 3-year-old (and secretly me!)
- Why It’s Great: A classic two-story LEGO-themed carousel, a great way to slow down and enjoy a few peaceful minutes in the park.
Pirate River Quest ☠️♂️
- Location: Pirate’s Cove
- Who Loved It? My whole family (a rare win!)
- Why It’s Great: This boat ride is slow-moving and story-driven, so my toddler could enjoy the pirate adventure while my older kids searched for LEGO-built treasures along the way.
Mom Pro Tips:
✅ Measure your kids beforehand! Many rides have height requirements, and knowing in advance helps avoid meltdowns. And this isn’t just for the young kids. My kids are tall and even though they were within the age range for the driving school, my oldest 2 were too tall to ride with their younger siblings.
✅ Start with Miniland USA! It’s a great way to let kids explore while deciding on the next ride. And actually, this was a favorite spot for my kids!
✅ Take a midday water break! Whether it’s Aquazone Wave Racers or heading to the LEGOLAND Water Park, cooling off makes a big difference in Florida’s heat.
LEGOLAND Florida was the perfect theme park outing for my family, with something for every age and ride preferences that let all my kids feel included. Plus, watching them discover the magic of LEGO in real life? Priceless!
