Ellenton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Manatee County, Florida. It is part of the Cultural Coast of Florida and resides in the Bradenton-North Port-Sarasota Metro Area.

History of Ellenton
The Gamble Plantation is currently the oldest building in Ellenton built between 1845 and 1850 by Major Robert Gamble. Originally a sugar plantation that fell into disrepair after the Civil War, the property was purchased by Major George Patten and his wife, Mary in 1870 who named the area “Ellenton” after their daughter Ellen.
