The Sarasota-North Port-Bradenton Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is located in Central West Florida and spans across Manatee County and Sarasota County.

Bradenton is a neighboring city located in Manatee County and is the second-largest city in the metro area. It offers a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Bradenton is known for its historic downtown district, Riverwalk Park along the Manatee River, and the Village of the Arts, a vibrant community of artists and galleries.

Siesta Key Beach, located in Sarasota, consistently ranks among the top beaches in the United States due to its fine white sand and clear turquoise waters. Other notable beaches in the area include Lido Key Beach, Longboat Key Beach, and Anna Maria Island Beaches.

In addition to the beaches, Sarasota and Manatee counties feature numerous parks, nature preserves, and golf courses. Myakka River State Park, located east of Sarasota, is one of Florida's largest and most diverse state parks, offering hiking trails, camping, and airboat tours.

The Sarasota metro area has a thriving arts and cultural scene. It is home to numerous theaters, art galleries, and museums. The aforementioned Ringling Museum of Art houses a collection of European paintings, as well as a circus museum dedicated to the legacy of the Ringling Brothers. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota hosts a variety of performances, including Broadway shows, concerts, and ballet.
