Bay County

Bay County is located in the panhandle in Northwest Florida bordering the Gulf of Mexico. Bay county is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast with 27 miles of white sandy beaches, lakes, rivers, the St. Andrews State Park. Water sports and activities abound with both freshwater and saltwater fishing, boating, swimming and more. Golfing is also a favorite activity with the almost perfect weather year round! 

Bay County was establish in 1913 and from portions of Washington, Calhoun and Walton Counties and was named in reference to the area which bordered St. Andrews Bay.

Marina Civic Center is a large waterfront theater in downtown Panama City. It first opened in 1958 and was renovated in 1994.

The Martin Theatre first opened in Panama City 1936 as the "Ritz". The name was changed in the 1950s, and renovations in 1990 restored it to the fully functional theatre it is today. Catch many musical and theatrical performances here throughout the years.

The Northwest Regional Library System serves Bay, Gulf, and Liberty counties in the Florida Panhandle. Bay County libraries are located in Panama City, Panama City Beach, Parker, and Springfield; Gulf County libraries are located in Port St Joe and Wewahitchja; and Liberty County libraries are located in Bristol and Hosford. The headquarters and largest library in the system is the Bay County Public Library in Panama City.

Port Panama City located on the Gulf Coast in Northwest Florida handles over a million tons of cargo per year and provides essential support service for major manufacturing companies in the area.
